Pedrazzini

FAST, LIGHT, AND ELEGANT

HANDCRAFTED IN SWITZERLAND SINCE 1914

Over 100 years ago, Augusto Pedrazzini moved from Italy to Lake Zurich to establish a shipyard manufacturing fishing and sailing boats. His passion and affinity for boat building was passed on to his son Ferruccio and today Claudio Pedrazzini runs the company. The family tradition is persevered, and the current owner continues to cultivate it.

The Pedrazzini name slowly gained more traction and by the 1920s the Pedrazzini name had become well-known for its high quality craftmanship, and Augusto was running two shipyards. The shipyard first manufactured rowboats and fishing boats but slowly the manufacturing switched to motorized boats and in 1928 Augusto won the first Zurich Outboard Regatta.

In the 1950s the business was rejuvenated with the construction of new racing shells. During the same period Ferruccio designed a boat that would be directed at an exclusive clientele and helped forge way to today’s current designs. The Capri Deluxe was born, a classic runabout built with an inboard motor.

Today, the mahogany runabouts are handcrafted, and it takes up to 9 months for a single runabout to be built.

The line is composed of a 7.5-meter-long Capri with a sundeck which can seat up to 5 people. The current designs are the Capri, the Vivale, & the Special. They have their own unique features but the most tempting is the Mercury V8 engines used to power the boats which can produce a mighty 900hp.

To further highlight the extra care towards high quality, the boats are highly varnished. The glossy finish is achieved by painting 20 coats or clear lacquer, and this helps protect them against the harsh weather and salty waters.

This is true craftsmanship, and it represents high Swiss quality and the highest attention to detail for a timeless and beautiful design.
